Underwater massage

The procedure comprises body massage performed in the mineral water bath with 1.3–4 atm. pressure water stream.

Therapeutic effect:

• muscle relaxation;

• pain alleviation;

• widening of blood vessels;

• improvement of blood flow and lymph circulation;

• metabolism stimulation;

• facilitation of inflammatory resorption;

• improvement of muscle activity.

Indications (symptoms or states showing that underwater massage may be applied as a therapy):

• motor apparatus (joints, spine) disease/injury consequences;

• peripheral nervous system diseases;

• excess weight.

Contraindications (conditions or states in the presence of which underwater massage is not advisable or recommended):

• acute inflammatory processes;

• fever;

• 1st and 2nd stage hypertonic disease;

• heart failure;

• cerebral and coronary blood flow disorders;

• dilated leg veins and thrombophlebitis;

• kidney stones and gallstone;

• inclination to bleeding;

• epilepsy.
