GRAND SPA LIETUVA RESTAURANTS BECAME THE WINNERS OF THE FRIED BREAD FESTIVAL!

Fried Bread Festival in Druskininkai Concludes: Winners of the Most Delicious Recipes Announced

From July 17–19, Druskininkai hosted its first-ever Fried Bread Festival on such a large scale, bringing together the resort’s restaurants, cafés, and gastro bars to present original interpretations of one of Lithuania’s most beloved traditional snacks. During the three-day event, visitors had the opportunity to taste a wide variety of dishes created by participating venues, ranging from classic fried bread recipes to contemporary gastronomic creations.

The festival organizers have announced the participants who received the highest ratings from both visitors and the evaluation panel. The festival’s Grand Prize – a €1,000 advertising package in the news portal Lrytas – was awarded to our panoramic restaurant Keturi vėjai. The restaurant impressed the jury with its dish: fried rye bread served with garlic-infused oil, melted cheese sauce, and hard cheese. The award recognizes the outstanding overall quality, craftsmanship, and presentation of the dish, which earned the greatest appreciation from festival visitors.

In addition to the Grand Prize, several special awards were presented. In the “Meat Masters” category, the winner was Grand SPA Lietuva’s gastro bar “Druskininkai”. Its dish, slow-braised pork cheeks served with potato cream and fermented and fresh vegetables, was recognized for the best combination of meat ingredients. The gastro bar also won the “Golden Crust” category with its fried bread served with garlic and chili-infused oil and cheese. As a special prize, the team received a double invitation to Oktoberfest Druskininkai.

The festival awards were based on the combined votes of visitors and the evaluation panel, reflecting not only professional assessment but also the appreciation of the public.

The Grand Prize won by Keturi vėjai and the special category victories achieved by the Druskininkai gastro bar represent significant recognition of culinary excellence. These awards highlight the high level of professionalism, creativity, and dedication demonstrated by Grand SPA Lietuva’s restaurants in preserving Lithuanian culinary traditions while adapting them to the tastes and expectations of today’s guests.
