“Grand SPA Lietuva” rheumatologist Dr. Vilija Okė has more than 20 years of international clinical experience. She worked in Stockholm for more than two decades, where she completed her rheumatology residency and doctoral studies and obtained the qualification of Associate Professor.

The doctor diagnoses and treats autoimmune and inflammatory connective tissue diseases, as well as diseases of the joints, muscles and other conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. She also provides consultations for chronic pain in the back, knees, hips, hands or other joints, including radiating pain, for example, pain extending into the legs.

To establish an accurate diagnosis and determine the cause of pain, the patient’s health condition is assessed and, when necessary, the following diagnostic tests may be performed:

• blood tests;
• X-ray examinations;
• joint ultrasound examinations;
• other necessary tests.

Depending on the diagnosis, medication, physiotherapy or rehabilitation procedures may be prescribed. Joint aspirations performed by the doctor, as well as injections of medication into the joints and surrounding tissues, can effectively reduce pain and inflammation and improve mobility.
